This was when we first got Nugget he was 10weeks old

Now we’ve always had dogs in our family we’ve had the blessing of loving Bandit, Denim and Boof who are all playing over the Rainbow Bridge together. But having puppies back in the house has me saying things I haven’t said since my children were toddlers!! They include:
* Don’t lick the dishwasher/floor/lounge/windows/me
* This is my food you have your own
* Who left the puddle on the floor?
* Do you have to lay right in the middle of the doorway/floor?
* I can go to the toilet by myself thank you I don’t need an audience!
* Don’t pull his/her tail/ears
* Don’t jump on the lounge
* Get out of the blinds

* No biting each other
*  Don’t eat the cat food
* Share the toys, there’s more than one ball!
* In or out stop standing with the door open
* Leave the cat alone, don’t sook to me when she scratches you.
* Get out of the garden……….who ripped up the daisy bushes?

Now I’m sure there are more I say and more to come but you know what just like having kids I wouldn’t swap them for the world.

Pass the catlax please…….

I love working with fur fabrics but man does that stuff shed everywhere!!
I had a marathon cut/stitch session the other day and got 14 monsters made. The Dyson was well fed on fur clippings and I’m sure I needed a dose of cat lax to help with a furball 😂😂

Minions

Are you a Minion fan ? I must admit that now my kids are older and no longer into the latest movie from Disney Pixar or Dreamworks I get a bit lost on the who’s who of kids movies. Anna and Elsa who are they??  Its a lot easier on my wallet and the Mummy guilt of but Muuuuuùuuuuuum everyone has 5 billion of the latest released movie toys and we neeeeeed to go to the fast food outlets coz they have xyz figurines to collect – 50 of them that are our for 3weeks only………
Yeah I don’t miss that bit at all! But back to Minions they seem to have a following that is huge! And Minion quotes always make me smile. Recently I was asked to make a minion outfit for a baby and I just love how it turned out.

Oh my all my dreams have come true!!!

Its a significant birthday for me this year and hubby asked what my ultimate @@th present would be? my first response of a week in Bali by myself didn’t go down all that well with the rest of the family so they asked plan B LOL.

I have been machine embroidering for a very long time now & used to use Generations software which was great but for the last 12-18 months I havent been able to get any support, no updates have been released & it was crashing more than it was working. Lucky for me Echidna were offering a trade in on Generations for those very reasons & upgrade to Pearla Premium for 1/2 price. So I told hubby thats what I wanted. He was very obliging and told me to get the details to organise it. Well…………….that was a mistake as I went onto the Echidna website & the first thing I saw was the Brother PR650E out on a super special price with interest free financing option………………eeeeekkkkkk. Took photo of screen & sent it through to hubby saying hmmmm this would be nice & I wont ever want another birthday/christmas/mothers day pressie for eons………….oh & I would let you off ALL the wedding anniversays you forgot & all future ones also.  So home we got from work & serious discussions were had. Next thing you know I was ringing up to see how much for freight all the way from QLD to WA………….that was scary but we were planning a trip to Perth & we have family down there so priced the freight to their place & was 1/3 of the price of getting to me out here in the boondocks.

So now I am the very proud owner of a Brother PR650E called Brutus and am getting Miss J – my Janome 300E ready to sell. This I am sad about as she has served me very well over the last 8 years but I am hoping her new owner will love her as much as I do.

Brutus is a little daunting but I am sure we will become great buddies very quickly! In the mean time I am going to try a few designs and slowly transfer all my Jef’s to Pes’s thats gonna take awhile!!

Funky Monkey

I have had this pattern sitting in my stash for awhile now and finally dragged it out to try.

I have made other patterns by Melly & Me before and adored them. This one not so !

I even had to contact Mel as there are markings missing from the pattern pieces. And going by the reply I received she has been selling this pattern for years & I am the first to bring it to her attention!

Anyways onto Magoo…………..or in our house Mike the Monkey!

Here is the finished result ………

ImageImage

I ended up doing his arms differently as the whole slip stitching them to the outside is painful so I positioned them in the side seams & stitched that way, I also encased the legs into the seams rather than hand baste them & have an exposed seam. Next time(if there is one) I will leave the limbs unstuffed, stitch them into the body seams & stuff once turned (leaving an opening for stuffing of course )

He is missing his tuft of hair & whites on his eyes simply because he has been pilfered by the teenage son who remarkably resembles Mike with his own long limbs & tuft of wayward hair!

Onto the next pattern………………..

Grab your alfiol, make your beanie, run around waving your hands in the air while yelling

The Aliens are coming…………..

The Aliens are coming…………..

Cue alien music………

Image

The Mothership has landed!!

But its Ok, take off your beanie, lower your arms & stop the yelling. These are the most friendliest Aliens you will ever meet 🙂

I have made them using the tute from lemon squeezy home she has a free d/loadable pattern that is sooooo easy its just crazy! You will notice a slight difference in Christies aliens and mine but thats ok I like to do things differently.

I must say if you are a novice softie maker, or just want a quick & easy to whip up alien this is a go-to pattern. I made 1 yesterday & had the other 3 finished before breakfast this morning.

So I would like you to meet, Phep, Gheth, Uzhi & Opho

Time to reconnect

Posted on

Well it’s been awhile {again!!!} but when your life’s hectic some things just gotta give and unfortunately for me it was stitching and blogging BUT after a new job I am getting into a new routine and reconnecting with my fabrics, machines and notions. And I must say I am loving it. 🙂

We are currently on school holidays so I have set myself the challenge of using as many of my unused patterns as possible and blogging about them! I have even down loaded the WordPress app in hope that it makes me more accountable!

So have I started my challenge? Yes I have I have 2 patterns stitched up and ready to blog about after I get outside tomorrow and take the photos needed 🙂

Until tomorrow
Happy Stitching
